Please can you Help – Thieves Strike Charity again

November 4, 2011

For the second time within about 18 months,  Headway Somerset’s Brain Injury Outreach Unit was burgled in the early hours of Tuesday morning and the thieves showed no mercy in wrecking the office, chairs and filing cabinets, stealing all the clients money and lunch money from the cash boxes and taking equipment which had been funded by local supporters including digital camera equipment, overhead projector.  Last time they stole the Wii console but because the excess is £750 they did not claim, as it was simply not worth it.

This time they will have to claim on the insurance but still have to pay the hefty excess on the policy but it does not make up for the distress to the clients, staff and volunteers who arrived Tuesday morning to see the place in a terrible mess. All activities for the day were cancelled and they are of course fearful that the thieve will return again.

£750 is quite an amount to take out of the much needed funds and I am contacting you all in the hope that perhaps you could be generous enough to make a small donation to help Headway Somerset buy the replacement equipment as quickly as possible.

If you can help this worthy charity then Headway Somerset would be truly grateful.

Cheques to be made out to ‘Headway Somerset’ and sent for the attention of Alison Mills at PO Box 425, Bridgwater TA6 9EY

Thank you.
