St Loye’s Foundation

St Loyes Main PY spotLoye’s Foundation is an independent charity based in Exeter that works with disabled and disadvantaged people to help them to transform their lives through specialist support services.

St Loye’s believe that everyone should have the opportunity to fulfil their potential.

Founded in 1937, St Loye’s Foundation has been helping people achieve their aspirations and live more independently at home, at work and in the community for over 75 years.

Through our specialist services we support a range of different people with various disabilities, people like James. James dreamt of being a fully qualified LGV driver. He was born with Prader-Willi Syndrome, a rare genetic condition that causes constant hunger, reduced muscle tone and varied learning and behavioural difficulties. The St Loye’s team met with James and began working hard with him to help transform his dream to a reality. James is now a fully qualified LGV driver working full-time.

James said: “I couldn’t have done it on my own. LGV always seemed a non-starter because I didn’t have the confidence. I feel proud of myself.”

St Loye’s Foundation is always looking for enthusiastic people to volunteer and help us transform people’s lives. You can get involved by:

  • Organising, taking part or attending an event.
  • Taking on a challenge and fundraising for St Loye’s individually or as part of a team.
  • Creating or joining a St Loye’s Friends Group.
  • Providing our clients with much needed work experience placements within your organisation.
  • Becoming a corporate partner of St Loye’s.
  • Considering us as your charity of the year.
  • Becoming an official member of St Loye’s Foundation.
  • Considering leaving St Loye’s Foundation a gift in your will.
