December 9, 2011

A question I always ask – and not only rhetorically!

Yes it does! – and here’s the proof.

Subject: interesting stat
Hi Sean
I sat on the same table as Caroline Burkie from the West Of England School at the last Exeter lunch and as a  result of our conversation I got a booking for their staff party in January at the Rougemont. This lead me to look at the statistics regarding bookings from Business Network members for me over the last 18 months and I discovered that my enquiry to booking ratio is 100%! In other words, every single serious enquiry that I have received from BN members in the last 18 months has turned into a firm booking. This compares to an average of 25% ratio for all my other forms of enquiry lead. So, you often comment that ‘does networking work’ – well, I would suggest that my stats show that it is highly cost efficient! It shows that face-to-face contact is ultimately the most effective way to do business, because the enquirer comes to you better informed and probably already predisposed towards you because of the personal contact previously made.
Best Wishes

Subject: Business Network

I have done 2k worth of fees this month from Business network alone – both are new clients that I initially met at BN 4 months ago where I was sat on their tables so I believe in networking.

If I can do anything to give back then it is my pleasure to do so.

I firmly believe networking is not just about what you can get out of it for yourself- but what you can give!

Have a great day
