Two FANTASTIC Line Ups
Line up NUMBER ONE – tomorrow
Starting with – Goal Setting and Motivation – Lessons from the Sahara”
Hosted by Colin Nicklas of Gameplans
A seminar that will cover
- The importance of setting goals
- How to set usable goals
- Understanding motivation
- Dealing with challenges
- Overcoming setbacks
At the end of the session the delegates will understand all of the above, have discussed the application of all the lessons in the toughest circumstances and had an opportunity to question how they can apply those lessons in their own business and personal lives. They will be left with plenty to reflect on for the future and a method of taking control of their own lives in a way that many would not think possible.
Followed by THE Networking Lunch
Informal networking over drinks from 11.45am
Sitting down to a 2 course served lunch with coffee
Each table is hosted by a professional table host
During the lunch each decision maker has 3 minutes to explain to the others the benefits that you and your organisation can offer; the type of business that you are looking for and also how other businesses can help you. Be memorable so that other people will be able to remember and refer.
HOW TO MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR 3 MINUTE PRESENTATION:
- Introduce yourself an your company/organisation
- Outline what you do – the benefits that you bring to your customers/clients
- What’s new in your world? What’s novel? How will people remember me?
- What type of customers/clients are you looking to build relationships with?
- How could the people around the table help you or your customers/contacts? What are you looking to purchase, what challenges do you have (also think about this from the perspective of your clients)
- Can you refer the people around the table to others that you know?
You could use a recent example of when you and your business has benefitted someone; a good tip is to look back over the last couple of weeks and see who you have been working with and how this has benefitted – gives the other people a good idea of the types of businesses/people you are working with.

Julian Summerhayes – Brand You – after lunch – a sneak preview of what Julian will be covering..
The Power of Brand You
“You are the storyteller of your own life, and you can create your own legend or not.” – Tom Peters, Re-imagine!
It is hard to think of yourself as a brand.
It is antithetical to the way we think of ourselves where actions (should) speak louder than words.
But …
And it is a BIG but … whether you like it or not, you have a personal brand: your name, persona, your clients and your business dictate Brand You.
It is no longer ‘enough’ to do the work – that is a given. It is a question of working on your career, building up your practice and distinguishing yourself in a highly competitive, consumer-facing market.
It’s as old as the hills but people do business with and refer business to those people they know, like and trust. Each of those truisms brings its own challenges; but being known for who you are and what you do, is the first wrung of the ladder.
Word of Mouth (WOM) is no accident. It requires dedication, commitment, passion and perseverance. But knowing what you stand for, how others see you and leveraging your personal brand is the most important thing you can be doing right now.
This workshop will focus on how you leverage Brand You for maximum gain and will cover:
- Why Brand You?
- The mindset of the Brand You linchpin.
- Adopting a synergistic approach to your values and your clients.
- How to build a remarkable Brand You for maximum gain: financial, spiritual and career.
- Why LinkedIn is so important to developing a WOW Brand You.
- Renewal strategies.
- Developing a Brand You marketing plan.
Julian Summerhayes is a former solicitor who worked for a number of the regional and smaller practices in the South West. He now runs his own business development consultancy where he works with businesses developing strategies for winning new work (both on and off-line), leveraging their intellectual capital and adjusting to the fluid legal landscape. He maintains an active blog (www.juliansummerhayes.com) which delves into and discusses the main business development issues facing professional practice, with a particular focus on personal branding.
