Thanks a Million

April 10, 2012

We are delighted to announce that Bristolfirms have generated an estimated £1million worth of new business after taking part in the latest Best of Bristol Business Exhibition.

The 10th Best of Bristol Business Exhibition, which took place in February, was not only the city’s biggest business exhibition and networking event to date, but also a record breaker in its own right.

Despite the UK’s ongoing economic woes, the exhibition proved to be our most successful one so far — with unprecedented levels of interest leading to exhibition space selling out six weeks before the big day AND more than 1,000 delegates choosing to attend.

In total, 144 exhibitors came together at our regular home of Ashton Gate Conference Centre  including AMC Coimunications, Vodafone, Destination Bristol, COSTCO, At-Bristol, BUPA, Hills Waste Solutions, City of Bristol College and Oceana nightclub.

We also received exceptional interest from the media, including the Bristol Evening Post, BBC Radio Bristol, Jack FM and Bristol Community Radio, who actually broadcast live from the event.

Local news website Bristol 24-7 also covered the exhibition, and were so taken with what we are trying to achieve for businesses in the region that they have now agreed to become our official media partner for the next two events.

The best news of all, however, has been the glowing feedback received in the weeks following the exhibition on February 28.

Drawing from all the reports from delighted exhibitors about new orders and leads, it seems that over £1m in fresh contracts and prospects has been created as a direct result of the exhibition, which is simply wonderful news.

With the UK economy having slumped back into recession it’s great to have something positive to share among all the doom and gloom.

We would like to thank our key partners at the event for their hard work in making it happen: Bristol City Council, public relations agency Palamedes PR, Bristol City Football Club, Destination Bristol and N3 Display Graphics.

We would also like to give a big thanks to our sponsor, AMC Communications.

But most of all we would like to thank all the Bristol businesses big and small for your continued support. Hearing how much you enjoyed and valued the last Best of Bristol Business Exhibition is music to our ears.

We have a number of testimonials from exhibitors at the February event over at Business Sorted, but would just like to share a few of them here.

Steve Croker, managing director of Bristol printing firm Chase Devonport, wrote us a lovely letter and said:

“I chose to use The Best of Bristol as my launch pad. I was right to do so and was overwhelmed with the response we received on the day.

“We gained orders in excess of £3,000 and requests from 41 other delegates to contact them over the following weeks to arrange appointments.”

And Len Miller, of InfoRoute.co.uk, wrote: “Best show we have ever exhibited at. We made new contacts and gained quality leads for TeamWorks247.com. Looking forward to the next event.”

Speaking of the next Best of Bristol Exhibition, it was originally scheduled to take place on September 25 — but due to overwhelming demand we are now adding an additional event on Tuesday, June 19 at Bristol City Football Club Exhibition Centre, Ashton Gate.

We have already taken bookings for over 80 stands so if you don’t want to miss out on all this great networking opportunities — not to mention the exciting range of business seminars — then make sure to book your place sooner rather than later.
