Jessie May Trust Fabulous Fundraising – Red Devils and Dragons
Red Devils Skydive Opportunity
Jessie May has an exclusive arrangement with the Red Devils and we’re looking for people to join us on Thursday 4th August 2011 for the Jump For Jessie May skydive!
Doing their bit on the home front
Jessie May calls in the Big Guns:
Here to help by making your screams count towards a worthy cause.
This summer the British Army’s famous Red Devil’s Parachute Display Team will be working in partnership with Jessie May by offering you the chance to carry out a tandem skydive with the team.
The Red Devils, fresh back from a gruelling pre-season training camp will be all fired up to deliver this incredible insight into what is one of the most prestigious jobs in today’s British Forces.
Jessie May has an exclusive arrangement with the Red Devils and is asking that as many of their supporters as possible join them on Thursday August 04th for the Jump For Jessie May skydive. We ask for each jumper to raise a minimum sponsorship of £500. This will cover the cost of the jump and Jessie May will receive a minimum of £210. If all donations qualify for Gift Aid the charity could receive as much as £350 from each jump.
This is a once in a lifetime experience, with limited availability. If you want to test your metal with the big guns please call Jessie May on 0117 961 6840 or e-mail fundraising@jessiemaytrust.org.uk for more information.
This exciting day will involve an introduction to the Red Devil’s Team followed by 30 minutes of ground training, after which you will be attached to a qualified Red Devils Tandem Instructor in readiness for your jump. At an altitude of 13,000 feet you will exit the aircraft and experience thrilling 45-seconds of freefall then an exhilarating canopy ride flying the parachute to the ground. Go on, be a Devil for a Day…

I have spent my whole career working with and supporting people to be able to live in their own communities with their families. This ranges from my work as a social worker with people suffering long term mental health problems and children and young people in conflict with the law or in the care system; to my work as an international aid worker with children separated from their families by war as refugees, as child soldiers, through being orphaned by HIV/AIDS or institutionalised through disability or through poverty.
I bring this experience and passion about children, families and about home to Jessie May and the families we support. One of the reasons why I was attracted to work for Jessie May was this emphasis on support in the home. It is what makes us so unique.
I also bring my experience of management – managing people, finance, creativity and innovation – to my job as well as knowledge from studying my MBA. I am honoured to be trusted to lead such a wonderful charity. But this is a team effort and I have a fantastic team around me, staff, volunteers, trustees, who are all so committed and contribute in so many different ways. chris.roys@jessiemay.org.uk
