Project 2012 – Headway Somerset – can you help?

June 15, 2012

Project 2012 – please have a look at www.headway-supporters.org

Following the £20,000 cut to our funding from Somerset County Council, one of our 21 Club members, Stephen Ward from Clerksroom, came up with a great new initiative to help us meet this gap.  With thanks too to Coastline Creative and Morphsites who both donated their services free of charge to support Project 2012.

The simple aim of the site is to raise £20,000 for our charity by inviting 200 individuals, firms or organisations to donate £100 before December 31st

We would like you to ask at least ten of your own contacts, clients etc to let them know that you support Headway Somerset and how pleased you would be if they considered becoming a Project 2012 supporter too.

Benefits for Supporters

Business members, community groups  and individuals can have their name and website link featured on our specially created Project 2012 website and use the special  logo to display to demonstrate your support to our cause and will be listed in the Roll of Honour in the Supporters section.

General Information

Brain Injury can occur following a traffic accident, fall, blow to the head or illness. It can be sudden and devastating. The lives of those with the brain injury and their loved ones, who may end up being full-time unpaid carers, will be changed for ever.

Headway Somerset is the only organisation of its kind in the county helping brain injury survivors plus their families and carers. It provides specialist support and activities to help people re-learn skills, and gain some new ones, to help them live as independent a life as possible after brain injury.

Raising £20,000 is just part of our £130,000 fundraising target for 2012. That’s why we want you to join up to Project 2012 so we don’t have to cut back providing essential activities which make such a difference to our clients rehabilitation needs.

What will £100 do?

·         Fund 10 brain training programmes to improve cognitive skills

·         Help run 3 IT tutor sessions

·         Fund 3 yoga and relaxation therapy groups

·         Provide 10 hours of Outreach

·         Run 2 Art classes or 6 Craft sessions
