Exciting Evolution Event Exeter
NEWS RELEASE
CITY CENTRE MANAGER TO SLASH RIBBON TO OFFICIALLY OPEN NEW CAFÉ
Members of the public and press are invited.
City Centre Manager John Harvey officially opens an exciting new Moroccan-style café with a traditional Viking sword at Evolution, a spiritualist centre and shop. Based in Fore Street, Evolution has had only one change of ownership over the last 20 years before being bought by local businessman Dudley Hambleton in November 2011 who will be dressed as ‘Merlin’ for the launch.
The new Café which opened for business on 7th July, seats up to 45 customers in the intimate dining room and adjoining private courtyard. Luc an experienced chef and Exeter-man is serving high-quality organic, vegetarian and vegan fare, sourced locally and freshly prepared on site daily. Fresh ingredients in season will be the order of the day served on historically accurate crockery from the 16th/17th Century, with bronze cutlery
The shop and cafe walls are painted with clay paint ( as indeed are the walls of the three therapy rooms upstairs ) so there are no chemicals in the air to be breathed in while dining.
Switching from ‘corporate to crystals’, former co-director of Concorde Copiers, Dudley Hambleton purchased the business in November last year and has invested substantial funds in refurbishment, updating and extending the number of services and products on offer. This includes selling ethnic clothing, fair-trade African jewellery and a comprehensive range of exciting ‘wizardry and magical’ books for both children and adults. Since taking ownership, Dudley has also introduced a diverse range of workshops and therapies, hosted in the numerous therapy and seminar rooms in the three storey building by a full qualified team of counsellors and therapists.
Dudley Hambleton says:
“I want to make Evolution ‘The Spiritual Centre of the South West’ with something for everyone with different and interesting sessions held in the evenings including astrology, crystal therapy, mediation and a drum circle as well as the wonderful products we have on sale during shop opening hours. In my previous role I was co-director and founder member of Concorde Copiers which we built up into a very successful business with many branches across the South West. At that time I was very much deep-rooted in the commercial world, however, one day out of the blue I had an amazing and unexpected first-hand experience which changed my life. Stepping into a garden late at night I was hit with a strong smell of spices and conjured up the name John Dyer in my mind. On further investigation I discovered that a spice merchant of that name had lived at the property and died in 1810. It has irrevocably changed my life and as a result I know my calling is in the spiritual world and find myself much more at peace and fulfilled.
Dudley is a member of Business Network SW, attending the monthly events in Exeter and Taunton.
