Exeter Business Network Member raising money for Devon Air Ambulance

August 16, 2012

A message from Amanda at Optix Solutions – Exeter Business Network members.

I recently wore  a crayon costume to a fancy dress party and, despite being surrounded by people in fancy dress, looked and felt pretty ridiculous.

On seeing the photos my Alastair quipped ‘so how much would I have to pay you to wear that in the office?’ and so the Charity Crayon Challenge was born.

Previously I’ve crawled around sports fields, run 5k, walked 25 miles and jumped out of an airplane all in the name of charity – how do you top that?

So here’s the deal –

If I can raise £275 I will wear the costume all day at work (thanks to Optix Solutions for agreeing to this)

Raise £350 and I will also commute to and from work via Public Transport in the costume

Raise £425 and I will add in spending my lunchtime out and about in Exeter City Centre

Raise £500 and not only will I do all of the above, I’ll also work my volunteer shift behind the bar at my local pub in the costume (thanks to The Stoke Canon Inn for agreeing to this)

I have set a provisional date for the Friday of the Bank Holiday weekend as Exeter should be really busy. I hope to be able to collect money on the day – subject to permission.

I plan to post photos on my Virgin Money Giving page and via Social Media throughout the day.

So there it is, love me or hate me, you can pay to embarrass me and support a very worthy cause in the process. http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/charitycrayon
