Paralympians return to Exeter Business Network – look who else is coming – there’s more!
Delighted to announce that our speakers at this, the Exeter Business Network October event, will be Keryn Seal and Robin Williams – GB Paralympians!
This is brilliant as Keryn and Robin spoke at the June event before they went and played at the London 2012 Paralympics for the Team GB in the 5-A-Side football. An opportunity to hear from 2 very inspirational athletes!

1.The Business Seminar/workshop
Hosted by Belinda Newton – The HR Dept
In 2010/11 there were 218,100 Employment Tribunals heard in England and Wales, an increase of 44% on the previous year. The biggest unfair dismissal award was a hefty £181,754, with the average being £8,924
If you employ staff, or are thinking of doing so, could your business afford this expense? As far as we at The HR Dept are concerned Prevention is always better than Cure so make sure you have all your HR Policies and Procedures in place and avoid becoming one of the Tribunal’s statistics.
Led by Belinda Newton, we will present an Introduction to Human Resources seminar which will contain a step by step guide on how to comply with ever changing employment law and how to avoid a nasty employment tribunal.
By the end of the seminar, we will have:
- Identified key employment legislation businesses must adhere to
- Given a unique insight into HR policies and procedures and how to write and implement them
- Openly discussed examples of what can go wrong and how to rectify it
- Provided tips on how to deal with specific issues
- If you want to e-mail me in confidence in advance I will ensure anonymity – belinda.newton@hrdept.co.uk
Coffee from 10am and seminar starts at 10.30am finishing at 11.45am
