Flooded out with conversations and connections and Voltaire!

November 22, 2012

“Appreciation is a wonderful thing.  It makes what is excellent in others  belong to us as well” Voltaire b 21/11/1694

Not even the biggest down pour for months could prevent the recent Taunton Business Network event being a hot bed of connections, collaborations and conversations.

I must admit it is the first event where I have had to contend with weather to such a degree – the moving of cars, the lack of boats to ferry people in – I shall have to revisit my contingency plan!

With the waters raging right next to Somerset County Cricket Club the decision makers who attended the networking lunch benefited from building relationships with others.

River Tone at Priory Bridge

Some people who had booked the event could not make it despite valiant attempts to travel from their villages – numerous text messages asking for a boat, webbed feet and even a helicopter were exchanged – some food for thought!
