Abundance mentality – If I breathe quicker than you do I deprive you? Covey coined the idea of abundance mentality or abundance mind set, a concept in which a person believes there are enough resources and success to share with others. He contrasts it with the scarcity mind set (i.e., destructive and unnecessary competition), which is founded on the idea that, if someone else wins or is successful in a situation, that means you lose; not considering the possibility of all parties winning (in some way or another) in a given situation Individuals with an abundance mentality reject the notion of zero-sum games and are able to celebrate the success of others rather than feel threatened by it
Conversation – networking is about conversations and engagement – 2 way – online and face to face.

1: Taunton Town Centre Company:
Changes have been made to the set up of the company which means that participation is now more accessible to your business. Previously, the cost of membership was a staggering £1,500 a year. Thanks to our lobbying, the cost of membership has now dropped to just £50 a year. This is your opportunity to ensure that the town centre company is working on behalf of your business and I urge you to consider joining as this is your chance to be the change you seek. 2: Dragon Boat Racing:
June 9th this year will see the first Dragon Boat race take place in Taunton to raise money for Headway Somerset. I’ve had the opportunity to see first hand the work they do, thanks to Business Network South West, and it really is a great cause. Details are attached and I hope that you can get involved in this excellent event. If anyone is interested in participating but is struggling to convince others to join in, I am happy to take details and create teams for you, so please let me know if this floats your boat! This should be an excellent day out drawing huge crowds to the town, so I hope that you can get behind this.

A new local community radio station is about to launch. Tone FM is focused on promoting the local community and that includes businesses. 4: St. Andrew’s School:

Headway Somerset
General Information
Brain Injury can occur following a traffic accident, fall, blow to the head or illness. It can be sudden and devastating. The lives of those with the brain injury and their loved ones, who may end up being full-time unpaid carers, will be changed for ever.
Headway Somerset is the only organisation of its kind in the county helping brain injury survivors plus their families and carers. It provides specialist support and activities to help people re-learn skills, and gain some new ones, to help them live as independent a life as possible after brain injury.
Taunton Charity Dragon Boat Race
A great new event is coming to Taunton on Sunday 9th June.The Taunton Charity Dragon Boat Race is being run by Headway Somerset and the official Dragon Boat Company.
This is a fantastic opportunity for local schools, shops, companies and organisations to get involved. There are prizes for the winning team, fundraisers, fancy dress and of course the wooden spoon!
We hope of course that you will raise all of your sponsorship for Headway Somerset but if you have your own chosen charity/organisation you would like to support then 50% of the money raised can go to it provided it is local and offering a service within Somerset.
Join us at our launch event at Miles at The Riverside in Taunton on 7th March 2013 at 4.30pm. This will be an opportunity to give those interested further details on the event and we will have a great view of the river!
