What I learnt over lunch……from Ovid et al…….
The Taunton Business Network event on 20/3/13 at The Castle at Taunton- Budget day, also the birthday of Ovid (20/3/43 BC) who must have – although he did not know it – came up with possibly one of the best networking quotes ever

It was also a chance to celebrate World Story Telling Day in style!
Each of the people attending not only enjoyed a fabulous lunch, the chance to present their business to others but also the opportunity to tell a story that meant a lot to them. There was a vast selection of personal stories, stories that had inspired, stories that entertained, stories from around the world and those closer to home – a plethora of stories – all helping to build the important relationships crucial to success.
There was also something that added to the vent – very dependent upon people’s listening powers! Once the “presentations” were complete people around each table chose 2 words to best describe what they had heard..
Guess what businesses were around the table I was sat at –

? and His/her business is – life, enhancers, cheap, talker, improves, lives, talk, helps, 24/7, benefit
? and His/her business is – jargon buster, definitely, mail, understands job, time saving, holistic printing
