National Adoption Week news from Families for Children
Thank you to Exeter Business Network members Families for Children for the latest news………………..
Early November sees National Adoption Week 2013 (4-10th November). During this week we raise awareness locally and nationally for the need for potential adopters to come forward. Staggering Government statistics suggest that for every approved adopter there are 3 children waiting for a family.
Families for Children are expected to place 50 children with adoptive families this year and continue to urge people to come forward to tackle this problem.
We thank you for your continued supported in our work but would ask for this week you may like to help us a little more in very small ways………
It takes very little time to spread the good news about adoption and is a great way to help children waiting in care (you don’t even need a direct connection to adoption). Here are some simple ways you can help us:-
• Share your story, talk to friend and colleagues about adoption or about your personal experiences if you have any.
• Use your social media – Tweet or post on your Facebook page that it’s National Adoption Week and a link to our page.
• Follow us @FFCAdoption on Twitter and retweet us
• Like and share our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/familiesforchildrenadoption
As a small charity we have limited resources and I would be pleased for any help you could give us with the following:
· Printing of campaign posters (A4) in colour(approx. £300 cost)
· Use of a franking machine for mailing (of course we will pay the postage costs! Just the machine use would be great and save all the licking!)
· Any time anyone could spare for envelope stuffing and labelling of envelopes would be great too
If you can help with any of the above please can you call Katey on 07988880649 or email marketing@familiesforchildren.org.uk
And finally Fundraising!…….
We know you support us a great deal but this year we are asking friends and supporters of FFC to join us for the Great Adoption Tea Party. Hold a tea party or coffee morning at your office of local community centre or even at home to raise funds for adoption. I have attached our poster and for more information please call Ally on 01364 645488 or email acolton@familiesforchildren.org.uk
