Polaroids and gales at Exeter Business Network May event

May 8, 2014
“Any problem can be solved using the materials in the room” – Edwin Land b. 7/5/1909 – founder of Polaroid
On the Beaufort scale a rating of 12 – hurricane force enthusiasm for conversations, connections and collaborations – THANK YOU!  Sir Francis Beaufort was born on 7/5/1774 – there’s the link breezy I’m sure you’ll agree!
I would also like to thank Alex Wren of Bitpod for a tremendous start to the event with his very visual seminar on “Using You Tube for Business” – informative, enlightening and entertaining – from duct tape roses – to hedge funds – to gold play buttons and ably assisted with help from Richard Hussey of RSH Copywriting and also Alison Jobson of Straight Marketing       For more details feel free to contact Bitpod
THE Networking lunch began with a welcome to the new members to the group and then 2 presentations.  These were the Exeter Business Network charity nominations where each charity takes it’s turn in nominating a member who has gone out of their way to help – there are more details on the charities and the fabulous work that they do later in this post!
From April – Caroline Creer of Devon Air Ambulance Trust nominated Mandy Blackler of Casino Select for organising a charity casino event that raised funds for the very important work that DAAT carries out –

For May – Ally Colton of Families for Children nominated Rachel Buckley of The Family Law Company.  Ally needed a venue for an event that she was organising in Plymouth and Rachel arranged that this could take place in the Plymouth offices of The Family Law Company –
