Events to support Devon Air Ambulance Trust

May 22, 2014

Here are details of a few of our forthcoming events which you might be interested in taking part in.
For further information on any of the events below please get in touch.  We’d love to hear from you.  Simply ring a member of our fundraising team on 01392 466666 or emailfundraising@daat.org

Sunday 19 October

We are delighted and honoured to announce we have been chosen as Official Local Charity Partner for the 2014 Exeter’s Great West Run.

We’ve got some bond places up for grabs – for individuals these will be offered via a ballot. However we would love to have some teams of corporate/business supporters taking part too.  For example Bishop Fleming had 10 runners in the Plymouth Half Marathon a few weeks ago.  There’s also a team corporate challenge you can enter within the run.

Do you have anyone who would like to take part? We’re asking potential runners to raise a minimum of £200 in sponsorship money per place.

To apply simply email e.dibartolo@daat.org with details of who would like to run.  By applying runners confirm they are able to raise the sponsorship sum required. By supporting us you make a huge difference in keeping your Air Ambulances flying and helping us to help patients just like four year old Lauren (see below).

We can provide all you need to help you fundraise – from links to an online sponsor area, hard copy sponsor forms, to posters and help re publicity.  We’ve also designed a very special event running vest and everyone who is running for us will get a free one!

Dragon Boat Festival
Saturday 27 September

This is a fantastic event either for team building or just for fun!

Each boat takes 16 rowers plus a drummer.  But you can have up to 20 in your team, so you can mix and match.

There are two options on how to enter a team:
1. Team members pledge to raise a minimum sponsorship sum of £60 per person (includes boat hire)
2. Alternatively why not get your company to sponsor your boat at £300 plus VAT.  Team members pledge to raise a minimum sponsorship of £40 per person

If you are a small team why not ask your key customers, suppliers or other companies you know to boat share with you.  A great way to cement relationships.  Or register your interest with us and we may be able to match you with another small group.

Motorcycle Ride Out
Sunday 13 July

Are there any keen bikers in your organisation?

Why not tell them about our annual Motorcycle Ride Out?  Last year we had a record number of over 1,000 bikers taking part.

Do you have a noticeboard where you can put a flyer up for us?

You can enter online via our website atwww.daat.org and even better if you pre register you get a free limited edition t-shirt.

Agatha Christie
One Mile Sea Swim
Sunday 21 September

Would you like to take a dip in the footsteps of crime writer Agatha Christie?  She loved to swim in the coves around Torbay, near her Greenway home.

Our One Mile sea swim makes up part of the annual Agatha Christie Festival and raises funds for us and the Torbay Surf Life Savers.

Further information and online entries can be made via our website at www.daat.org

Why should you support us?

Four year old Lauren fell into a bucket of scalding water.  Mum, Jenny recalls “Lauren‘s skin was literally hanging off and she was screaming with pain and in shock.

Devon Air Ambulance arrived and I was able to travel with Lauren to the specialist burns unit in Swansea, a journey of 30 minutes by air, but 2 1/2 hours by road!”
