Sean’s Business Network SW meetings played a huge part in helping me to establish and build EBRS. Of the various networking groups I tried, his monthly lunchtime sessions were the ones I found most effective.
They provided a relaxed but structured way of meeting with other small business owners and decision-makers in larger companies. Consequently I made connections which have led to ongoing work and referrals and I have also sourced a number of other services from fellow networkers over a four year period.
Sean always takes an active interest in what I do and took time to understand EBRS. My only regret is that I rarely seem to have time to attend the lunches now – I’m usually too busy with client commitments – but this is in part testimony to the network’s effectiveness!

BNSW events are always the first thing in my diary each year as unmissable events. In 2013 the amount of business we generated from BNSW introductions will cover the cost of lunches for the next 60 years or so. Plus there is the opportunity to learn from other members & keep up to date with business trends. Not to mention great food with even better company. Highly recommended

I have been a member for a number of years and I would say that Sean is the best at Hosting network lunches – he makes everyone feel really relaxed and therefore this makes networking so much easier – and great to do business in this kind of environment- you must come along to see you for yourself.

I have been a member of BNSW for over two years & in that time have found the networking event to be the best in our area. We have built new relationships with other members that have lead to work, referrals & friendships. Sean is a natural host and does his best to make sure all members get the most from their membership. He also works hard to ensure that everyone is at ease by making introductions, offering advice on how to network & also being a jolly nice chap. I can not recommend it enough.

Hi Sean,
Great to meet you today at BNSW, and thanks to you and everyone else for making me feel so welcome as a guest. Looking forward to coming back to BNSW soon (and, inevitably, joining – I took a booking and payment for 6x my lunch fee before I left the building today!)
Best wishes,

“I have been attending the Business Network SW since it started a number of years ago, and can confidently say Sean always keeps his finger on the pulse – the Business Network SW is one of the best networking groups on the circuit, the venues are amazing and the lunches superb. There is always a warm welcome when you arrive at events and my number of clients and friends just keeps growing and growing. The seminars and 10-minute presentations are always informative and interesting – Well done Sean! – Good video at the April 2012 Lunch with Bitpod!!! – Your wing man (sound recordist extraordinaire). “Sean is the face and driving force behind Business Network (SW) and has been critical in making the networking experience as enjoyable as it is rewarding. In the short time Gameplans has worked with Sean we have established a number of essential connections and are confidently moving forward with our business development. I wholeheartedly recommend Sean and Business Network (SW) to anyone who is serious (but not too serious) about growing their business and supporting the promotion of the South West as a great place to do business.”

“Wow, what’s not to love and where do I start! Sean does a fantastic job of making everyone feel important and involved, and he somehow ensures that we’re all thinking about how we can not just do more business with fellow members but also how we can help the other members with more referrals and contacts. The setup is perfect for networkers and if I only have time for one networking event a month, I make sure this is it!”
Kim Knox
“Sean hosts one of the busiest business events in the South West whilst making it all look really easy. The organisation, the communications and the lunchtime presentations are all perfectly executed. Sean is energetic, witty and most of all very welcoming. We are looking forward to future events and are really pleased to be part of this friendly and effective community.”

“I highly recommend the monthly network lunches that Sean arranges in the Soutwest. I go to the Exeter and Taunton networking lunches and find them superbly organised, always meeting new people every month as well as further developing existing relationships. Plus there are the seminars in the morning, a great way to learn about different areas of business plus you can host your own. Several of my clients have come out of networking at these lunches and in hosting seminars. Sean himself is really friendly and easy to approach, and very helpful in helping you to promote your own business.”

“Sean has put his incredible energy and enthusiam into the events to create a fantastic atmosphere in which to do business – you should hear the buzz in the room during the lunches! He is always cheerful and friendly and is happy to recommend members to whoever he meets even if it is outside of the network. He is always thinking ahead to the next thing that he can do to help members promote their business and is very keen to embrace new technology…And in between all this he still manages to find time to help organise and to attend other networking events. If you are a member of The Business Network you can be assured that Sean will always be trying to help you get the most from your membership

“I like Sean, he is a motivator and a positive individual. There are alot of good networking events in the area but Seans was the first one I joined and I am glad I did. His events are structured and professional yet personable. Business Network works. Sean is very efficient and quick off the ball. If you are looking to invest into any networking events in the area, Business Network should be your first point of call. You will not be disappointed. I’ve been a Business Network member for about 5 years now. There are so many networking opportunities in the area now its hard to know where best to spend your time, however one date that’s always in the diary is the Business Network because of its format. I like the fact you only have decision makers there and the table system works really well too. Keep up the great work Sean et al.

Thank you for a great networking lunch today. As I mentioned on leaving I liked the addition of the 4 x member speakers at the end of the event, which gave extra food for thought and a brief platform for them to offer information on their offers etc. I appreciate all the hard work and thought that goes into organising, developing and improving the BN for members and guests. Thanks, Sean, and well done!

Just wanted to let you know about another successful ‘coming together’ that started at a lunch. I had previously sat on a table with Julie from Springboard Marketing and attended her recent seminar. At the seminar she offered one morning of her time free of charge to Families for Children. Julie came in on Monday and from that meeting we have come up with a plan to assist our recruitment of adopters. At the end of the meeting Julie commented that all the ideas were probably ones that we had considered but had not got around to implementing and it hadn’t been rocket science. I replied that she was right, but that our rocket was grounded and she had provided the fuel for us to take off!!

“Sean runs the Business Network Group. The BN is one of the best networking groups in the region, holding monthly lunches boasting 80+ people everytime. Not only are the events well attended but they are also decision makers only so you know your time is not wasted. Sean is extremly personable and easy to approach. Always looking to ‘connect’ businesses in the network and beyond if he can. A great person to know.”
Alastair Banks – Optix Solutions www.optixsolutions.co.uk
Sean practices what he preaches, networking not on behalf of the Network so much as on behalf of the members. His genuine enthusiasm for and knowledge of the members makes him a great host and he always knows someone who can help, whatever our needs. When I moved to Exeter 2 years ago, I went along to the local Business Network lunch on day 2 of my job here. The atmosphere was friendly, welcoming and supportive, largely thanks to Sean. I have met so many great suppliers, supporters and downright lovely people since that it was definitely one of the best things I could have done.”

“I always look forward to the Exeter Business Network lunches each month, because attendance inevitably leads to more business. The members are good business people who value developing effective business relationships in a friendly, supportive but professional environment. Sean Humby and his team run the meetings efficiently at some of the top venues in Exeter. This networking group is very well worth the time and money spent to attend, in my opinion and is thoroughly recommended.”

You are a networker’s dream. You have the contacts and want to share them with people. You make this happen and ensure everyone has a good time networking. The events are interesting and you seat to mix people up at the meetings. As the Master of Ceremonies you keep us entertained whilst giving everyone the chance to contribute. Keep up the good work.
