Exeter Business Network February event

10th February 2016
Exeter Golf & Country Club
Exeter Business Network has been operating successfully in Exeter for over 22 years, and because we target senior decision-makers it is all about establishing meaningful business relationships – not a ‘hard sell’.
Research has long supported the view that networking is a key factor in the success of fast growth companies. It allows the business person to build new business relationships, ‘knowledge share’ and generate business opportunities at the same time. Many business people prefer face-to-face networking opportunities because they prefer actually knowing and meeting who they intend to do business with. But don’t just take our word for it
“I’ve been introduced to great bunch of like minded businesses within a friendly & supportive network, I’ve re evaluated my marketing efforts following some interesting & thought provoking seminars, I’ve found new contacts that I can refer my own contacts to and most of all I’ve completed 5 design projects, 3 directly with members and 2 following referrals from members, that have more than paid for my membership.”JF Multi-Storey-Thinking
Seminar before lunch
will feature Listen 2 Win an organisation founded because of an introduction made at a BNSW lunch in Exeter 3 years ago.
Keryn Seal and Robin Williams, who are both England Blind Football players, had been brought along by St Loyes Charity to give a talk and another member, Richard Carpenter of Enterprise Assist, was so impressed by their story and abilities that he helped them form Listen 2 Win Ltd.

Keryn, Richard and Robin
L2W specialises in listening and communication skills training as well as offering disability awareness courses that are entertaining, inspiring and motivational. You’re in for a treat if you come along to the seminar that morning. You won’t be playing blind football – that takes far too much training but you will have the opportunity to take part in various games and challenges that will increase your understanding of listening and communicating more effectively. You’ll certainly have a lot of fun.
You’ll also get to meet Keryn Seal captain of the England Blind football team and one of the directors of Listen2Win. Keryn grew up in Wales with an eye condition which meant he had very restricted sight. Nonetheless he took part in as much sport as he could – mostly at the expense of his education. At the age of 20 he lost his sight completely but that didn’t stop him joining the England Blind football team or going on to get a degree. Now he has three children and 101 caps for his country.
Robin Williams may not be able to make the event in person as he is just completing his PhD in Statistics at Exeter University. Robin has been blind since birth which makes his many achievements all the more impressive. He may just send you a message though.
