“He who wishes to secure the good of others has already secured his own.” – Confucius
A great quote that could have been written about networking! And very serendipitous as it was on 28/9/551 BC that Confucius was born!
And on 28/9/1066 William the Conqueror landed in Britain….
Plus – 28/9/1928 – Sir Alexander Fleming notices a bacteria-killing mould growing in his laboratory, discovering what later became known as penicillin
And finally on 28/9/1836 – Thomas Crapper was born; an English plumber, he invented the ballcock!
And it’s International Right to Know Day!
And it’s also the date for the next Bristol Business Network event at Mercure Holland House Hotel and Spa – fabulous city centre venue

Photography, Business and the Digital Age
The advent of digital photography and the explosion of the Internet has completely revolutionised the way that business can exploit photography to its advantage. Gone are the days where only large business with big budgets used photography. Nowadays even the one person operation needs to think seriously about how they can use photography simply to keep up.
But easy access to affordable and advanced photographic equipment has also brought its downsides. Everyone thinks they are a photographer now but having the right equipment doesn’t necessarily mean that the result will be a professional image.
An informative and sometimes humorous journey around the world of photography in the digital age
About Ken
As one of Bristol’s foremost photographers with a host of assignments, exhibitions and projects completed and in progress.
Photography is and always has been my passion. It inspires me like nothing else. People paint, draw and sculpt but I take photographs because I believe that they capture the world around us like nothing else can. And do you know the best bit? It is also my job. Situations don’t come much sweeter than that.”
