Seminar before the lunch being hosted by Peninsula
HR Update for Business Owners
The purpose of this seminar is simple… to give you indispensable tools and knowledge to ensure you are up to scratch with your legal requirements as a business owner. This is now more important than ever as on 26th July 2017 The Supreme Court decided that Employment Tribunal fees are unlawful, and now employees can take you to court for no charge. Employers need to be vigilant with this as:
- Anyone who felt they have been treated badly by their employer but could not afford a claim fee, will now have the cost barrier removed and will be able to bring a claim against you.
- Since 2013, the number of claims reduced by around 79%. It is predicted that this ruling will bring the number of claims back up again.
- All Employment Tribunal judgements are now available for anyone to see on the internet.
- The Government have predicted that there will be a significant influx of wages claims, discrimination claims and unfair dismissal claims.
- Peninsula will provide practical advice, hints and tips on how to reduce the possibility of ending up at a tribunal.
Topics will include
- Review documents of Employment, contract, handbooks, and policies
- Manage staff behaviour – performance, attendance, attitude, conduct
- Fulfil your employer duties – avoid fines, choose the right pension for your business
- Deal with recent changes in Employment Law; Shared Parental Leave & Overtime in holiday pay
- Comply with – risk assessments, fire & safety awareness, policies and procedures
Peninsula is the UKs leading HR and Health & Safety company, providing business owners with continual 24/7 support, leaving them with time to focus on business growth and other essential business matters that they are passionate about.
Coffee and networking from 10am and seminar starts at 10.30am (optional, always rewarding, included in the price and a great networking opportunity!)
