Covid 19 update – 26/3/20

March 18, 2020

Having taken the decision earlier this week to postpone both the March and April events I felt it prudent to update you.

The fundamental aspect of the Bristol Business Network events is the face to face conversations that have taken place monthly since 1993….with the advice that “all non essential social contact and travel should stop” there was no choice but to cancel the event on March 18th and also the April event.

The forthcoming events are set in the calendar and I am liaising with the venues and getting updates as to the potential impact on these events. Any decisions that are made will be based on the advice and guidance from UK Government and Public Health bodies.

I have been working with Zoom ( Zoom is the leader in modern enterprise video communications, with an easy, reliable cloud platform for video and audio conferencing, collaboration, chat, and webinars across mobile devices, desktops, telephones, and room systems) which will enable us to have face to face conversations from the comfort (and safety…) of our own home/office.

In the next few days I will be contacting the Bristol Business Network members with an invitation to “join a meeting” and this will be a trial run. I will then be looking at extending this to those people who are on the visitors invitation list.

This first Zoom meeting is going to take place on 26th March……a full report will follow!

If you need to contact me you can still do so via email and telephone (there is even a fact filled daily message!)

I am aware that the current situation is uncertain and we could be facing many weeks of disruption both economic and to our daily lives.

I will provide updates when appropriate and send best wishes to all members, visitors and my other connections.

Finally I would like to say thank you for all of your support at these challenging times and if there is anything that I, or the great people in Bristol Business Network, can do to help and support you please let me know.

Best regards and keep safe

Sean Humby – Director and host – Bristol Business Network
